Murphy Update

Ok, so I have been lazy lately and I have just been posting videos and pictures. Lets be honest 9 out of 10 people that visit our blog just want to see the little man! He is doing great and we go back to Children's next week for a follow up visit. I have a feeling he is going to skip the crawling and go straight for running. He loves Keely so much I think he just wants to follow her around. Speaking of Keely, we took her to the vet this last weekend for her yearly appointment. She weighed in at 76 pounds! She is not over weight at all, but I guess I can see why Justin complains sometimes about her sleeping in the bed.

We have been enjoying 3 weekends in a row of no traveling and hanging out as a family. We did have some friends come by which was tons of fun. Tommy, Jenny and Emma came by on a Sunday and then last weekend Jennifer, Jason and the kids came for a night. We are back on the road this weekend though. We are heading to Champaign for the Illinois vs. Iowa game and to hang out with the fam. Anna and David were nice enough to volunteer to watch Clayton while mom, dad, Justin and I go to the game. Aunt Shannon is perhaps the saint in all of this, as she is babysitting Keely at our house all weekend! The next weekend is Justin's birthday and while I can't tell you what we are doing it should be a fun time. Then we are back in Champaign for the big Ohio State vs. Illinois game. Hopefully we can have the same results as last year. Clayton can't wait to see his great grandparents and Super Aunt and Uncle. I am sure we will keep busy between now and Christmas, which is just around the corner!

Other than that not too much new with us. Hope everyone is having a good week! Oh and I guess I will post a picture so everyone isn't upset about just getting an update! :)

Clayton thinks something is pretty funny!

Crafty Sarah

Ok, so those of you that know me, know I am not a crafty person. I had a baby shower for my good friend Megan a couple of weekends ago. Megan is CRAFTY! I knew I had to do something to blow her socks off. (Ok, I probably could have cut out a shape with scissors and paper and she would have been impressed since I am so bad) Anyway, I decided to make Diaper Cakes to put on the table. The theme was barn animals. They turned out pretty good and I had a ton of fun making them! I put some of her registry items in the cakes too. This is my new side job!

Tagged!

I have been tagged by Karin and Meggie so I should probably play along! :) I am always posting about Clayton and Keely so I guess it is about time I talked about me. Maybe sometime I will talk about Justin too! I am not sure there are 6 very exciting things to tell people.

#1-- I have OCD. Now, this will probably not come as a surprise to anyone. If you ask Justin and David (Anna's boyfriend) they will tell you it runs in the family. Examples; I have the inability to sit down and eat dinner with my husband. I will get dinner ready, eat and then before Justin has half of his dinner done I am cleaning up and moving on to the next thing. I also have to delete all the caller ids off the phone on a regular basis. This drives Justin crazy. The OCD can be directly linked to my mother. Thankfully, this problem lessens as it goes down the family tree. :)

#2-- I have a weird obsession with the NBC National News. Justin says I am secretly in love with Brian Williams, but I loved it when Tom was on so that doesn't work. I used to tape it. Weird I know. I just like knowing what is going on. I may be switching soon though because they have become a little too liberal for me.

#3-- I used to eat at least one super sized McDonald's meal a week during swim team season. This will be one that Annie and others from GHS can appreciate. I mean it amazes me that I could put the super sized meals down like no ones business on the school bus riding home from swim meets. I look at an ice water from McDonald's these days and I gain 5lbs. I guess maybe I should start swimming an hour in the morning and 2 and a half in the evening and I will be able to do that again! :)

#4-- I have a few projects lined up for the next year or so. I am going to:
  • Get my real estate license(Mom and Dad I won't charge you commission!)
  • Attempt to learn Spanish(Considering I took 4 years of Spanish in high school and i can say Hola, this could be a big endeavour)
  • Put together my honeymoon album (My projects never seem to be completed in the year they are supposed to, hence my 2 year anniversary has come and gone and this is still not done)
#5-- I have the most wonderful husband ever. Yes, he puts up with my OCD, my sister's OCD and my mother's OCD. (I think he even loves all of us) He humors me and my endless lists. He hasn't kicked Keely (dog) out of the bed yet even though she cuddles against me and kicks him in the head. He has on at least one occasion rubbed my feet even though he HATES feet. He doesn't yell at me too much even though I continue to park towards the middle of the garage making it hard for him to get in. He makes me smile even on the worst days. He gets up in the middle of the night to feed Clayton so I can sleep. He took me on the most fabulous honeymoon to Hawaii! He tells me I am beautiful even if I don't feel that way. He hasn't gone crazy when we have to make a decision about something and I change my mind 5 million times. (Also a family trait) He doesn't complain about my cooking or lack of originality with my dinner ideas. He will still stay up at night and talk with me even when he is sooo tired. He has worked his butt off so I can work part-time and be with Clayton 2 days a week. The best thing is that he is such an amazing father, I love watching him with Clayton. I could go on and on!

#6-- I have just recently been able to start eating chips and nacho cheese from a vendor and Jello again. WHAT, you say. Well back in the good old days of the 10 hour YMCA swim meets I thought it was a good idea to eat nachos and jello before I swam. Well, needless to say it is not a good idea and I got sick. I hadn't eaten them for about 10 years. Still not a fan of the jello.

Ok, so I hope you enjoyed my endless babble about myself. :) I guess I will tag Amanda, Annie and Diane, if they haven't already done this!

Video Finally!

Ok, so I am sure everyone had given up on me getting a video up. I was apparently making it more complicated then it needed to be. Thanks to Annie I now realized I can take video with my regular camera and I don't need to use the actual video camera! Thank goodness I have fellow GHS alumni that are smarter then me. :) Thanks Annie! This could get addicting because it is so fun to video Clayton! I will try to get some Keely/Clayton moments up here too! Enjoy!
We had Clayton's 6 month pics taken at a pumpkin farm, scroll down to see those.

Happy 6 month Birthday Clayton!

Wow, it doesn't seem possible that Clayton could be 6 months old today. He is getting to be such a big boy. He has tons to say these days, making all kinds of noises. Justin says he gets that from me. :) He is working on being able to push up on his tummy and rolled over for the first time last weekend and Nana and Grandpas. He loves watching everything that is going on and is mesmerized by his sissy Keely and her endless energy. Clayton is such a good baby and we love every moment we get to spend as a family. We hope he had a great birthday! (Daddy reminded him that we won't celebrate every half birthday :)

Justin and I got Clayton a bookshelf for his birthday.

Clayton sits in his crib for a picture. Notice his finger is in his mouth for almost every picture! :)

Clayton and his friend Cabet sit in the rocker Great Grandma and Great Grandpa got him.

Clayton's Baptism

Clayton hangs out before leaving for the church.

We are so lucky to have such wonderful family that traveled to be with us last weekend for Clayton's baptism. Clayton had his grandparents, aunts and uncles, a super aunt and uncle, super cousins and some of his great-grandparents there for the day. Clayton obviously looked adorable in his little outfit that nana and grandpa bought him. I was so relieved my son didn't have to wear satin! The church service was very nice and Clayton stole the show. He didn't get upset at all and even looked at the minister the whole time he gave the sermon. :)

Of course with any special day there are some bittersweet moments. My parents placed some flowers in the church for Jaxson and I know he was there with us. We love our little boys so much!

I have some pics somewhere of the three of us at the church so I will try to get them up too. Have a great Friday everyone.
