Making the Most of the Weekend!

We wanted to make the most of this weekend since this week we will have a new Murphy joining us!  We started out the weekend with a parade at Princeville's Heritage Days.  The kids even got to enjoy a few rides at their small carnival.  I can handle a small town carnival any day over the chaos (that's putting it nicely) of the same idea in my hometown.  The kids got cool balloon art and ice cream to top it off.  Justin and I enjoyed a Ribeye Sandwich.  Yummy!  We also managed some park time and went to a splash park in Chilicothe.  Now we are on the final countdown to Thursday and "Baby Butter" arriving.  Clayton is still sure it is a girl and Maddie that it is a boy.  Clayton has even picked out a name Isabella.  Yikes, not on our list and he said it doesn't matter, that is what he is going to call the baby if it is a girl!  We will continue to pack it in with Gymnastics, Storytime, Running Club, T-ball, etc until I have to go in Thursday morning!  We can't wait to meet this newest addition!

T-ball

Clayton started his first season of T-ball in May.  They had some practices and are now having their games.  He loves it and has really been improving.  They get to try to hit the ball without the tee and then after 4 tries they use the tee.  I have been pretty impressed with the kids.  He looks adorable in his hat, t-shirt and pants.  Justin would kill me for saying that.  His strength is definitely throwing!  He is on the Dodgers this year.  Maddie has been great about going to the games.  We have done ice cream afterwards a couple of times which always sweetens the deal for her.  Just another reminder of how fast he is growing up!

Summer Fun

I am not complaining about the lack of heat this year, but it has put a damper on the kids pool time.  The had a blast in it yesterday afternoon though.  I think they were outside for 4 hours straight until we made them come in to shower and go to bed.  They are too funny in their goggles.  They put the little lawn table we have by the pool and were using it to jump off of.  I also threw in a ton of change for them to find.  I told them if they could tell me what the coins were they could keep them.  That kept them occupied for quite a while.  They love money.    Oh and of course we had to take an ice cream sandwhich break.  At least it wasn’t freeze pops.  I have to say I think my kids are averaging about 10 a day of those.  Oops!  That what being a kid and summer is all about though!

Swim Lessons

The kiddos took swim lessons at the River Plex this spring and loved it. It worked out that they had them back to back so while the other one was doing lessons they got to play in the fun zero depth pool that has slides, etc.  They both loved the water although Clayton preffered the pools with the warmer water!

5 Years Old!

Wow, I am once again behind but our big boy turned 5 back in April!  I can't imagine that this guy was born 2lbs 1 oz 5 years ago.  He has come soooo far.  He is finishing his last year of preschool and has really enjoyed Purple Panda.  He loves legos, being outside, exploring and reading.  He is in a lego club at the library and you can see in the pic above what he made.  Maddie got him an experiment kit for his birthday which is right up his alley.  He loves to tell us know what he will do when he is grown up, like stay up all night and drink soda!  He has started tball, just finished swimming lessons and is doing running club again.  He likes to stay busy busy!  We love you buddy!

1st Dental Exam

She was cheesing and styling for her first dental appointment.  She did a great job and picked the Cotton Candy flavored cleaning paste.  Helps that they show movies at the dentist!

Birthday Girl Turns 3

Maddie is 3!  Wow Wow Wow!  I can't believe my little girl is 3 and going on 17!  :)  She has quite the personality.  I don't know where she gets it but she is independent, stubborn and very vocal. :)  She wants to do everything Clayton does and even boss him around some.  She has been very busy taking a dance class and started back in gymnastics and swimming lessons this month.  She has gotten really into Hello Kitty and her favorite show is Doc McStuffins.  I think she could end up being a vegetarian, she just doesn't care for meat.  Oh but she would eat a Popsicle for breakfast everyday if I let her.  (Ok, it happens once in a while in a weak moment).  We love our little princess and know she will be a great "big sister" soon!

STL Trip to the Zoo

We were in STL for work last week.  Justin wanted to stay to do some pheasant shooting with guys from work so I decided it would be the perfect time to take the kids to the zoo before the baby comes.  The plans looked perfect, it was supposed to be 64 and sunny.  Then we woke up Saturday morning at the hotel and it was raining and cold.  We held out though and ended up with nearly 4 hours of fun.  I decided it was go big or go home.  We saw about every animal at the place, rode on the train, rode the carousel, had lunch watching the sea lions and had a blast!  Mommy was a bit worn out, but thankfully I was smart enough to rent a "ride" for the kids so we got around pretty easily.  Of course when daddy asked Clayton what his favorite animal was that he saw, Clayton's response was my favorite animal wasn't there, I like dolphins.  Sigh!

No one will disagree though that we enjoyed having no coats on for the second half of our day.  The Murphys are ready for Spring!

Tuesday Snowday

We had a very fun snow day on Tuesday with Clayton's preschool canceled and Justin not able to make it to work safely, we were all home.  We read, we played in the snow, we made homemade applesauce and much more.  Ignore how lovely I look in my two small coat when prego.  :)

Finally

I have been sadly behind on the blog.  I don't feel alone, I hardly see any of my friends blogging anymore.  (In my defense the pic loading hasn't been cooperating)  There just never seems to be enough time in the day.  However, I am horrible at baby books, I don't even think people know what photo albums are anymore so I need to keep on this better.

Sooooo, without further ado, late breaking news.  Baby Murphy #3 is on the way!  We are going to be adding to our family at the end of June.  We are all very excited and got another peek at the baby today at our 20 week appointment.  We are going to be surprised this time, so no news on boy/girl.

The kids are also excited and Maddie has named the baby "Baby Butter"  :)
