Blog Slacker/Basement Remodel

So I know I have been a blog slacker as of late. We have been running around as usual. I will give a Murphy Family update sometime this weekend. We are headed to the Missouri Valley Basketball Tournament this afternoon to watch ISU, so I have to make this short. My dad might disown me though if I don't get some basement remodel pics up! :) Since we will be staying in the St. Louis area for awhile and Justin is working from home, we decided we needed to finish the basement to have some more room. Once completed we will have a office, family room and play area. This sounds like a ton of space, really the area is not huge, but it is all space we didn't have before. I am super excited!!! So is Clayton. Justin's friends, Tim and Matt have done all the work so far. We hope to have it all done by Clayton's Birthday. We should have better pictures on Monday when the guys are finished with their part and all the tools are out. Anyway, here are some pics and like I said I will get more updates up this weekend! Have a great Saturday and enjoy the summer like weather!

Looking at Clayton's playroom, the door coming into the basement is on the left where you see the light. There will be a closet on the far left wall.

Standing in the family room area looking down to Justin's Office. There is a small closet at the end on the left and then where Tim is standing there are 2 pocket doors going into the laundry/storage area.

Looking back down from Justin's office to the family room area.

Ready for a Relay!

Grandpa, since I couldn't come to practice this week, I thought I better send some photos to let you know I am ready to swim in the relay with Kenton and the other guys! I have been working on my starts, turns and even pumping some iron. Unfortunately, I couldn't go to Prim Rose to have my Mohawk done, so mommy and daddy had to do it. Keely contributed some slobber! I love you tons and Good Luck tomorrow Streaks!

I don't think my trunks will help me streamline??? They are a little large.

Working on my backstroke.

Good shot of the MOHAWK!

Clayton is Soooo Proud of Grandpa and the Streaks!

Nana, Grandpa and Clayton
We were so excited to take Clayton to his first swim meet this weekend. As many of you know, my parents are retiring this year. This will also be my dad's last year coaching. We are so proud of him. It was a great meet to go to, and Clayton loved looking at the water and the guys swimming. Galesburg won the meet, making it 10 times that my dad has had a team win the conference! Clayton was a little disappointed that when Grandpa got pushed in the water, he didn't have any of his bath toys with him so they could play! They also honored my dad at the meet during one of the breaks. All the swimmers lined up to make a tunnel and they called my parents up. Clayton got to go with them through the tunnel. You can see in the picture above that Clayton is listening intently while the other coach talks about my dad! Way to go Streaks, and Good Luck next week at Sectionals Grandpa!

Clayton's 9 Month Photo Shoot

Yippee, I got to work early this morning and saw that Terri had posted Clayton's 9 month photo shoot! Great pictures as usual! The link is below. There should be an option on the right hand side once you are on the website that says Clayton 9 Months. Pick that. You will need to put your email address and then the password is Clayton. Enjoy!

Nana's Birthday!

Nana and Clayton celebrating Nana's Birthday

We were lucky to have Nana come to St. Louis to celebrate her birthday last weekend. Of course Grandpa, Aunt Ellie, Aunt Anna and Uncle David came too! We had a great time with everyone. The weekends go by way to fast, but we are so excited that in a couple of months, Nana and Grandpa will be retired and can come any time they want! Happy Birthday Nana, we love you!

Ok, My son is sooooooooo Adorable!

Terri, the photographer we use, was kind enough to share this picture so I could put it on the blog. I LOVE this picture of the little guy. This is totally him, with the big eyes and eyebrows up. I can't wait to see all the other pictures she took for his 9 month shoot.
