Clayton is enjoying a week at Mimi and Papas. Clayton wore his "ear protection" when he rode on the tractor with papa to mow. Now he apparently wants to wear them everywhere! :) Justin may or may not want to borrow those when he has to visit Mimi. I told him he would have to get in line. JUST KIDDING!
I can hardly stand how fast the time is going. Madeline had her 2 month appointment last Friday. She was 9lbs 8 oz and was 22.75 inches long! To give you perspective, Clayton wasn't even 5lbs at this age! Maddie is doing so wonderful and is a very smiley little lady! I have so many cute dresses and outfits to put her in for the summer. Her Aunt Heather got her this adorable dress! Maddie is loving watching her big brother and sissy Keely. Of course those two are always busy so there is a lot to watch! Hope everyone had a good weekend. Happy Monday!
My mother-in-law got me a subscription to Taste of Home's magazine called Simple and Delicious. We have been trying out recipes and I wanted to share this super easy and yummy summer dish.
Margarita Chicken
1 can frozen margarita mix (thawed) 3 Tbsp. lime juice 3 garlic cloves, minced 1/4 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. pepper 4 chicken breasts
Mix margarita mix, garlic and lime juice. Pour 1 cup (doesn't have to be exact) into a plastic bag and put the chicken in. Refrigerate for 2-4 hours.
Drain and discard marinade in the bag right before grilling. Sprinkle chicken with salt and pepper. Grill chicken. Baste frequently with reserved marinade.
Clayton and Mimi made a caterpillar while he was in Galena. He has been watering it everyday and the Caterpillar's hair is growing like crazy. He will probably need a haircut by this weekend! Thanks Mimi, he loves it!
Maddie in her cute lady bug outfit that Aunt Shannon got her!
I am making my breakfast. Clayton opens the freezer, gets out the cool whip, pulls his chair to the counter, gets a spoon, opens the container and starts eating. This is something Mimi would teach him. :)
Water seems to be theme of our summer! We were at the mall recently and Clayton was dragging me into Bed Bath and Beyond. He kept pointing to this ball. Best purchase! This globe water ball is 3ft tall and squirts water! For $8 (since I had a coupon) he can get wet and learn geography at the same time! Thanks Discovery Kids!
Wanted to get some pics up of Memorial Day weekend and our week at Mimi and Papa's. We have had so much fun. Clayton will post more. We are so sad to be leaving tomorrow morning. :(
Our family began on October 14, 2006 when Justin and I got married. We now have a handsome little boy Clayton, our beautiful daughter Madeline, adorable little Isla and of course our oldest daughter Keely Dog!!! Life is good! We hope you enjoy keeping up with our family.
