Happy Halloween!

We are enjoying another Halloween in Savoy, IL with my sister and brother-in-law. (Ok he isn't my brother-in-law yet, but I am just going to pretend because I am sick of waiting. Love you David) I think we have started a tradition of coming here for the holiday. Saves us all on buying candy too! Clayton decided he wanted to be a dinosaur/dragon this year. He was sooo cute. Anna, mom, Justin and I all went to the Illinois vs. Michigan game and had a good time. Thanks for the win finally! Anna and mom made yummy soup for dinner and we have just been hanging out. Hopefully there will be some more good football tomorrow when the Bears play! Hope everyone had a happy and safe Halloween!

3 Wonderful Years of Marriage +1!

We are having a great fall weekend in Galena! We came up for my Grandma Willy’s 90th Birthday party and to spend time with my parents and Aunt Anna.

It is hard to believe that three years ago this week Justin and I got married here! It was such a wonderful day!! I have always loved the fall, but having our anniversary during this season makes it even more special. I know I have said this before, but I am so lucky to have such a wonderful husband! Justin treated me to a wonderful dinner on Wednesday night and Clayton got to spend time with his St. Louis Grandma, Dianne!

So I have heckled some of my friends who blog about having times that they don’t post anything for awhile. Also known as blog slacking. This seems to be a sign that someone is prego. Well, of course I have been trying to be consistent with my blog in order not to get called out, because I AM PREGO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yep, we kept it a secret for quite awhile and now I am in my 16th week. We are so excited to be adding to our family. I am due April 2. (Do you like how I just slipped this into the post:) I haven’t even been able to talk to everyone, so I thought I would get it out on the blog. Clayton is excited to be a big brother, ok, he has no idea, but I am sure he will be excited. Keely on the other hand has been sleeping more and is already pouting about another addition to the family. :) I am feeling a ton better now that I am out of the first trimester, and can't wait to start feeling the kicks! Wonderful Surprise!

What a wonderful surprise! Super Aunt Barb and Super Uncle Dale surprised us on Sunday and stopped by on their way to Mt. Sterling! It was so great to see them. Clayton thought Super Aunt Barb was a little weird at first, but once I explained that she was related to Nana everything made sense. He loved Super Uncle Dale and wanted to go with them to Mt. Sterling and help milk cows. :) We love having visitors!

My 1st Haircut!

Clayton has pretty fine hair like his mommy so he really hasn't needed a haircut even though he is almost 18 months. We trimmed his hair ourselves for Shannon's wedding, but we finally decided he really needed to go somewhere and get it cut. He went to Great Clips where Daddy gets his hair cut. He was sooooo good and sat still the whole time. We were very impressed. After we left we went to the park to play. It is really nice out today. We just wish the weather would have been better this weekend so Clayton could have gone to the football game with us. Not that any child should see the football that Illinois has been playing. J He hung out with Grandma instead. We had a nice weekend in Champaign, but wish Aunt Anna and Uncle David could have been there. I told Justin it might be a good idea to swap houses with people every once in awhile. It is really relaxing when you have a weekend when you can’t really do any “housework”. Anyone interested in this, say in Hawaii????

We hope everyone has a good week. We get to stay home this weekend so we are hoping we have good weather. Plus, Clayton, Kate, Megan and I are going to the Apple Orchard/Pumpkin Patch on Thursday!!! Enjoy the pics below.

Great Weekend!

As you can see from the pics above we had a great weekend with Justin's family. It started Friday night, Justin and I went out with a bunch of his friends while Clayton hung out at grandma and grandpa's with Aunt Shannon, Uncle Dave, and Aunt Heather. Saturday, Justin got some golfing in and then we were both on the run. I headed to Matt and Megan's house and then on to our college friend Megan S's wedding, while Justin went to his 10 year class reunion. The wedding was beautiful and a great time. After the wedding I drove back to Taylorville and met Justin. I missed out on getting any pics at the reunion, but I think a good time was had by all. Today, we did a bunch of fun stuff. Clayton got to ride on the Combine, we picked pumpkins, popcorn and Indian corn. I even got tomatoes and apples to take home from the farm. We also celebrated Julie's birthday with a yummy lunch and got to see all the great-grandparents!

We packed a lot into the weekend, and Clayton and I slept the whole ride home. I know Justin is ready to crash any moment. We had so much fun though and are so excited that fall is here!

Bad Mommy!

Ok, so the title is a bit of an exaggeration, but I felt horrible today after taking Clayton to Stride Rite to get new shoes. I would have to say and my sister would agree that shoes have been my weak point in motherhood. I don't like wearing shoes and walk around barefoot much of the time, so I have never really been in a hurry to get Clayton in shoes. I didn't see the point of buying $40 shoes when he was laying or crawling around. Then when he started walking I figured it was easier to do so barefoot. He had a pair of Crocs for awhile and then at the end of the summer seeing as he was about to be 17 months at the time Justin and I thought he needed shoes. We got a pair size 3. Don't ask me why we picked size 3, but the seemed to fit. Thank goodness he only wore them once. When I took him today to get some good ones, they measured his feet and he is a size 5 1/2!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Holy cow, no wonder he wasn't walking so hot in those other shoes. Needless to say he is a pro in the new ones. He was flying around OldNavy while I was shopping today. I will post a pic of his new kicks tomorrow. By the way, still rediculous that a kid 5 1/2 shoe costs like $40. I won't even spend $40 on shoes for myself and that takes a lot more leather. :)

Big weekend starts tomorrow with a good friends wedding and Justin's class reunion. Hopefully I will remember to take some picks of all the fun. I am sure there will be some good ones of the Taylorville crew.

P.S. Going to a highschool football game for the first time in years, and I am super excited. Just something about the fall, hometowns, and football. Makes me think of my favorite book, "Friday Night Lights"!!!!!!!!!
